Sandra Perkovic is a Croatian discus thrower who has won multiple championships and distinctions in her career. Born on June 21, 1990, in Zagreb, Croatia, Perkovic began her athletics career at the age of 12 and continued to excel in throwing disciplines.
Perkovic's breakthrough came in 2010 when she won the gold medal at the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona. Since then, she has won numerous titles, including two Olympic gold medals in 2012 and 2016, two World Championships in 2013 and 2017, and four European Championships in 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2018.
Perkovic is also known for her impressive records and achievements in the discus throw. She set the Croatian national record with a throw of 71.38 meters in 2017 and has been ranked number one in the world by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) multiple times.
Off the field, Perkovic is deeply involved in various charitable and humanitarian activities, particularly in her home country. She is an ambassador for the Special Olympics Croatia and has also worked to support cancer patients and children with disabilities.
